The word of God came to earth in prophets of old and then Jesus came born with the truth in Him. He enlightened the word for us, so as all could understand, because He loves us all, not just a few of us. The day of Pentecost happened in Acts 2 and clearly states in verses 8-11 that they were speaking in languages of other countries. They weren't just babbling, they were speaking in Asian, Egyptian, Libyan, Arabian, and others, lots of others. The truth is that scholars and men with understanding followed the Jews around with the scrolls because it tells us how to live in harmony, the bible is a field guide to life. Wise men know that to be a creative society is more peaceful and life long, and chaos is created from ignorance and is very destructive. In a sense you could say it takes a wise man to get to heaven. As proverbs clearly states in chapter 10 verse 23, a man that hath understanding is wise.
Psalm 19:7-8 says the law of the Lord is perfect, the testimony is sure, making wise the simple. 8 goes on to say the statutes of the Lord are right, the commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes. Then 9 says the judgements of the Lord are true and righteous. His judgements are righteous because He knows His statutes are right, see how this all works together in pureness, perfect, and with assuredness. We cannot hide our face from the commandments of God, Jesus said we must overcome the things of the world. These things of the world will cause you to stray from the commandments of God, breaking a beautiful connection you may have with the Trinity. Psalm 22:1, 7, & 15 are some of the same things that Jesus and Job said to God during their affliction. I might say Psalm 22:1 gives me chills whenever I read or hear these words, which Jesus must have took right out of David's mouth. Even down to the roaring like only described as to a lion, Hail! Hail! Lion of Judah!
Read Lamentations 4 & 5, it's very humbling to say the least, these things could happen to any country that rebukes or refuses to follow the ten commandments of God. Ezekiel 5:5-6 says what God has done for Israel and what Israel has provoked God to do to them. What God is saying here is- you Israel are a chosen people of God, and that He sat Jerusalem in the center of nations. Jerusalem was made special and deemed so by God, and of all people to turn their back on God in apostasy but His own chosen. God was very sore, so much that verse 6 says this nation (she) has changed His judgements into wickedness more than the nations and so on. Now know this, that all eyes are on Israel at all times because the world knows that Israel's God is real. That He is mighty enough to have brought Nebuchadnezzar (the king of the Babylonian empire) to his knees, and brought Israel up out of Egypt, and has done many great things.
God is righteous and He knows it, there's no question, as Psalm 19:7-9 says, the law of the Lord is perfect, sure, and right. God has every right to deal with His chosen any way He sees fit, His children were disciplined for their actions against the safety of God. God left their presence in Israel, His shekinah (the glory of God) left. Now they were all alone and they were defeated, kidnapped, enslaved, murdered, and driven like herds of cattle by the Babylonian king. Jeremiah warned them, why? Because they were not following God's simple 10 commandments; #1 they were obviously not putting God first, they were worshipping foreign idols, #2 they used God, #3 they exchanged money on the Sabbath, #4 they dishonored their folks by worshipping false idols, #5 there were murders, #6 adultery was being committed, #7 they were stealing from one another, #8 they were lying on each other, #9 and obviously they were coveting, #10 or showing envy toward their neighbors by trying to steal each others land. They broke every commandment of the living God, His wrath was so great that they were completely taken out. So starved mothers ate their babies and fathers and sons ate each other. These guys (Jerusalem) were completely cut off from God and without any protection from anyone on earth or in heaven. Even as a Gentile, I wouldn't want god to be angry at me, and knowing my Father God, I'm scared of nothing more than Him. Only God has control over the second death, the destruction of a living soul forevermore is the second death. We as the created should never play around with the Creator. For the whole story read Jeramiah and Daniel.
